In a joint that had many stand outs, Layla was certainly one of AWOPs best from the turn of the century.
Another to come to mind is Yoko the tall big breasted Japanese girl who worked one day a week to get a little pin money to supplement the meagre pocket money her salaryman hubby doled out. And I think she liked the sex too. :D

A Woman of Pleasure... a Sydney... no, an Australian... no, a world legend.
The ambience, the madams, the receptionists, the girls - all first class. The prices for what you got were modest.
AWoP set a standard in brothel quality that might be equalled but I doubt if it will be surpassed. It was more like a gentleman's club with free drinks, nibblies, extensions for regulars, parties for regulars, "frequent flyer points" etc etc.
The rich and powerful were confident in AWoPs's discretion and many notables passed through the doors and up "the stairway to heaven". But ordinary folk were treated equally well.
The place was appointment only but you knew the descriptions provided were honest and not hyperbolic. When they siad "good in the room" you knew you were in for a great time. You were given a code name and your visits were recorded as were your habits, pecadilloes and tastes. But this meant you could be matched to a girl who would suit you. The other side of the coin was that the girls knew that they would not encounter a nutter. Bad behaviour saw you banned - for life.
You always felt that you were the first male to enter that day. The girls were always perfectly made up and dressed in expensive lingerie when they greeted you and led you to the room which was always spotless as was the bed linen.
Most of the girls were very pretty at the least with good figures. Their work performance generally was great - I had very few dud experiences there - and some great ones. They got quality girls because they treated the girls well and looked after them making sure that they did not do more than three or at most four shifts a week. They all had to have a gyno have a gander at them every two to three weeks - this was a Macquarie Street specialist. mind
Sadly we shall probably not see its like again.

I visited this over rated place a few times around 2000 & 2001.
Like an upmarket gentlemens club? Yeah, right.
It was a big terrace house in the Rocks, near the harbour bridge.
Entrance was through the garage via a back lane.
Once the door opened the first thing you saw was dirty stained carpet from an old washing machine overflow.
Not quite the upmarkert club ambience.
The rooms looked like they were decorated by a frumpy old aunt. Everything was plush & over stuffed. Lots of guys used to go into raptures over the bowls of minties on the tables. Last I head you could buy a bag of minties from the sweet shop pretty cheaply.
They had some OK girls & some shockers. I went on nights when I was presented sheilas who looked like the fat lady from the circus.
Not saying I didn't have some good times there, but really, it was just another brothel, but with good PR that a lot of guys are still spouting.

You can't generalise about these things. I had a few bad experiences here, but also lots of great ones. I was told there was a great difference between day and night shifts. I always went in the day. Happy memories.

I thought AWOP was one of the better run brothels in SYdney and the wls service standard was better on average than other places at the time. You will always have punters that werent happy with this or that but I also hear punters now complain that stiletto isnt swish enough for them aswell. Sheesh!
If you ask a dozen regulars of that place from 2000 you will find most of them were happy about the service they received. The decor is always forgiven when you get a great fuck 9 times out of 10. The other place I used to frequent at the time was Coco's at Milson Point which also is by appointment and has always had good performers. Bear in mind, the big spenders always get a different kind of treamtment.
